Jet Packs

This is the 21st century. This epiphany just hit me about 45 minutes ago. This is the age when theoretically I should have a jet pack in my closet with a helmet with a fin on top. A laser of some type for some sort of defense, whether it be for fighting Al Queda or burning moles of Lasorda's can. I should be entering a cooking time as well as my dinner from a keypad on my microwave and the Giants should have, by my estimation, should be hanging two World Series banners as of this day. I'm not going to revisit the past, that would be to brutal. Instead, I'm going to imagine that we are taking a fresh look ahead after what has been a winning past 20 years where the G Men have been competitive and now is the time to reload. Of course, I know its more a case of retooling but thats not the point. It's time to bring on the kids. Lets see them baby Giants! What better way to start from scratch. It's a win win for Sabean who promised to go younger. Instead it almost looks like the same ole "Meet the New Same Giants" where we have resigned vets off the scrap heap. Joe Crede? Good luck in Chi-town. Happy Pete? Happy trails. Sabes promised to go young so why not stick to his word? He has a free pass in a sense with so much interest in LinceCain while at the same time the expectations from Giant fans aren't that high? What better time to evaluate Velez, Burriss, hell, I'm even curious to see if Scott McClain can do anything! Whats the worst that can happen? He might not be our answer at 1B so the Giants can purge the system of those not in our future plans, spend a year saving a buck or two and at the end of 2008 make a splash and sign players we KNOW we will need after seeing what the kids can do and where they all shake down. With all the steroid hearings who's gonna remember anything else this year anyway?
