lol. Nobody gets my humor these days. Welllll, on the Gigante front a couple milestones to start the year in my week in review recap:
Bengie Molina hit the first Giants homerun......the last team in the league to do so.
The Giants did manage to win one game against the Dodgers in a game that saw Merkin Valdez start and Tim Lincecum out of the bully.
I got to see my man Tyler Walker, which is a good thing and I'm rooting for the guy.
The Giants looked pretty bad at times defensively.
You know, I know its to soon into the season but watching Valdez pitch really bodes well for the Giants. In addition to LinceCain, we might have to update that to ValLinceCain, or MerkCeCain or whatever. Nothing is going to sound as good as Brangelina but you get the idea. With a lineup of Cain, Lincecum, Valdez, Correia and eventually Lowry, how the hell does Zito figure on being the "ace". I feel for the guy but I don't think he's got it. Its entering the "crafty vet" stage of his career and as soon as the Giants start hitting and giving poor Matt Cain some run support, THATS the guy that should be the ace. I know I've covered this but its a recap. Anyway, all in all it was pretty much what I expected but for some reason, theres a glimmer of optimism in me that this time might not finish last. It was good to see some of the old Giants also. Got to see one of my favorites of all time, Hac-Man Leonard. Boy the Giants could use him now. The Giants are not exactly the Jessica Simpsons of the league but by no means are they the fat bald hairy guy also. They have potential! I think.
