....welllll. The last post got me thinking. What if, salaries aside, the Giants PUT Tim Lincecum as the number 1 starter. So far the Giants seem almost certain to win with the kid on the mound. So putting Timmy as the ace, being almost as unhittable as he's been, would keep the Giants in the game against the aces of other clubs. Matt Cain stays number two and Zito, to me, makes more sense as a number three at best. If I had my way he's be the number four guy but with that salary, anything below numero uno is gonna be viewed as wasting Amero's. But with Sanchez pitching well the team might fare better, and Zito also, with him lower in the rotation. Here's the deal though. The Giants need to restructure that deal and save face. Give Zito a decent contract with heavy incentives and stick him at the three spot. Lincecum, Cain, Zito, Sanchez and Misch. That my friends is a rotation. I'm still not sure how Lowry fits in but hey, this situation the Giants will find themselves in to me has never happened before, has it? Have the Giants ever had a better rotation in, say, the last 30 years? They've had some good pitchers, but from one to five, has there been a better rotation? Even with Zito this staff looks gooooood.
