"A high-ranking Giants official said Tuesday he believes the organization should consider reaching out to fired New York Mets pitching coach Rick Peterson in an advisory role in hopes of helping get Barry Zito back on track. The official declined to comment because he said the topic is sensitive internally and Peterson still is under contract with the Mets. General Manager Brian Sabean said he would not "address anybody else's business"

Well, I guess, if it helps. But whats the point. Barry Zito, no matter what he does, will not be able to live up to his contract. Never. He is not the pitcher that Matt Cain is. He's no Tim Lincecum. Hell, I wanna say he's not even a Jonathan Sanchez and I don't know if he will ever be again. Oh sure, you MIGHT get a flash here and there of past Zitoesqueness, but do you think he can sustain it? Unless Cialis or Levitra are in the sports beverage biz, Barry ain't gonna keep it up. So the Giants, by bringing in Petersen are taking the Viagra Eye Drops. It will only LOOK like Barry can keep it up but you and I know it. Barry will be good for one shot. Then he'll be limp again. All Johnson jokes aside this is the Giants trying to give Barry all the chances they should give him. Cut him. Take the hit. You can't even trade him, thats how bad he is. Pittsburgh is not an option this time. At least I think they aren't. Hell, bring back Morris. Morris for Zito. I'd take it.
