Secrets of the Gods.....wtf?

For all intents and purposes, I have been trying to look at this season as something other than it is. It is a down year, a retooling year, a rebuilding year. One thing it isn't is a "reloading" year. That means, in Sabes speak, it is going to get ugly. Scot McClain of all people got a nice write up on the Giants page. Nice. The way this team is looking, McClain at first or third might be a reality. What I can't figure out is this. Why do we still have Roberts, Durham and even Aurilia (I love you Richie). This team is going to be bad with them, why not trade em and be bad with a bunch of young guys? I think the reason is somewhere deep down in his bowels Brian Sabean has a plan. Whether or not that plan includes being competitive I don't know. I wouldn't think so but if you look at this lineup and listen to Bochy, I almost believe what they are preaching. The Go Go Giants are here. By midseason Eugenio Velez will get his shot. Lewis will by then start to establish himself even more so as a big leaguer and the Giants, by midseason, will generate some excitement and somehow, towards the end of the season, ruin the Dodgers march to the penant by sweeping and adding to the storied rivalry. That, I'm assuming is this years plan and you know what, I can kinda see it. Zito as the number one will give Cain a great shot at winning some more games. Matt Cain as a #2. HA. Lincecum as a #3! Hell, even Lowry as a #4. I almost feel like talking the trash talk to my idiotic Dodger neighbor. Of course our offense may have to include the offensive plan employed by the Bad News Bears, short batters and a few Rudy Whatshisname taking one in the shoulder. But c'mon. The GoGo Giants have some speed! Bochy's right!!!
